But she was definitely not calling anyone about this. This got out and she wouldn't hear the end of it until Siler got blown up again, and even after that it would totally get brought up at the Christmas party. Everything got brought up at the Christmas party. Sam shuddered and poked the button again. Nothing. "Goddammit." She looked at the wires poking out of the back. Everything matched up with the diagram in the open booklet. Green went with green, white with white. Why the hell wasn't it working!? "Carter?" Oh, perfect. Pasting a smile on her face, Sam turned towards the door and her commanding officer. "Sir!" "Whatcha doin?" He ambled towards her, hands in his pockets. She blinked. Wow. He actually did look curious. "Um, trying to hook up my scanner." She waves a hand at the innocent-looking square of blue plastic. "Not having much luck." "It's all plugged in?" He eyed it and tilted his head. "The light thingie isn't on." "What?" She edged next to him and tilted her own head. It wasn't. Oh, for the...
